Clients and Case Studies
Baker & McKenzie
For Baker McKenzie, the world’s largest law firm, APP designed and built a secure on-line knowledge management and collaboration system to streamline the process of global mergers and acquisitions. Extreme security in the architecture and design of this product was necessary due to the sensitive nature of the merger and acquisition process. APP’s design gives access control permissions to each individual document, and allows authorized practitioners to “promote” documents, allowing view by clients and/or outside parties.
During this ten man-year design and development project, APP worked with several other groups to design working prototypes, build content translation and collection tools, and integrate third party document management systems.
Independent Health
For Independent Health a healthcare payer, APP designed and built an on-line EDI transaction processing system. The system is able to handle misformatted and garbled transactions, returning the proper X12 error response to the submitter. Multiple instances can be running to different host systems, such as test and production hosts. The system logs all transactions to a central system log for system administrators, and continually reports its status to external system monitors. Before being superceded by WNY HealtheNet in 2002, it serviced over 2,400 physicians and 500,000 members, who entered over 2,500 referrals per day, on-line.
Boise Cascade Office Products
With Boise staff, designed and developed a web-based sales compensation system. This system communicated with legacy AS400 and mainframe systems to acquire real-time data.
Health Insurance Plan of NY (HIP)
Designed and constructed an intermediary database system, processing 6GB of system data per night, to offload transaction processing from HIP mainframe.
WNYHealtheNet
Selected APP’s Eliginet product for WNY HealtheNet’s state of the art HIPAA-compliant, web-based managed care transaction system. WNY HealtheNet currently delivers more than 4 million transactions per month to over 16,000 users.
HealtheConnex
Developed a translation/servlet engine allowing clients to upload eligibility files, have them translated to a common format, and be returned in real-time, saving operators from hand entering data each month.
